When and how will I be charged rent?
For all undergraduate buildings, rent is charged once per semester, in late July for the Fall semester, and December for the Spring semester. For graduate and family housing, rent is charged on a monthly basis. Rent charges are placed directly on your student account.

Who may be on the UHR Wait List?
All UHR participants with an active application who have either: not been assigned to housing during UHR, or have not confirmed a contract during UHR may sign up for the Wait List. UHR participants who have signed a contract, but wish to change their assignment, should instead request reassignment.

Students will be contacted in the order in which they appear on the Wait List, with the lowest lottery number going first. The housing offer will be… Read more »
What if I want special housing due to my sexuality and/or gender identity/expression?
In gender-inclusive housing, USC students can live with roommates regardless of gender identity or biological sex. The gender-inclusive housing option allows students to live in a safe and supportive environment. Please see the gender inclusive FAQ for more information.
Where should I live?
Where you should live is very much a matter of personal choice. There isn’t an overall “best” housing facility. Look through the descriptions of freshman buildings and see which fit your personal preferences.
Can I get parking by my building?
Our building descriptions on this web site and in our Living at USC brochures indicate which buildings have designated parking. (On campus buildings, which includes most freshman housing, do not.) Contact USC Transportation via their website or by phone at (213) 740-3575 to see about parking availability.
I am a __________ major. Should I live in a particular building?

As a freshman, your classes are likely to be spread around campus rather than concentrated in a specific location. The USC campus is relatively small and academic buildings are just a 10 or… Read more »
