Residents of many USC buildings (denoted by the ‘paid electricity icon’ in the description) have their electricity included in their rent charges. Electricity charges for all other residents will appear on their student account.
- Service will remain in the university’s name. (Note: residents should not make arrangements for an individual account with DWP.) USC Housing will pay L.A. Department of Water and Power (DWP) for electricity in university housing buildings.
- Each resident of a building without paid electricity will be billed $60.00 at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters.
This procedure will be more convenient for our residents and will allow electricity costs to be included in payment plans set up with Student Financial Services.
Beginning with Fall 2017 contracts, all university housing facilities will have electricity included in the rent charge and residents will no longer be billed for electricity in any building.
